Otter Tail County Household Hazardous Waste May Mobile Collections Postponed

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Otter Tail County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Mobile Collections for May have been rescheduled in August. A revised Mobile Collection Calendar that includes dates for surrounding areas will be released soon. While this is the current schedule, it may be subject to additional changes. Please continue to watch for updates on the Mobile Collection Calendar and other Solid Waste services.

The Mobile Collections for Otter Tail County that have been rescheduled are:
Rothsay — Friday, August 7
City Shop — 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Deer Creek — Wednesday, August 12
Deer Creek Fire Hall — 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Henning — Tuesday, August 18
County Highway Garage — 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Bluffton — Wednesday, August 26
Community Center — 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

The HHW Program accepts a wide variety of hazardous chemicals and products from homes for safe disposal. Paint, cleaners, solvents, used oil and oil filters, lawn and garden chemicals, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent lightbulbs, old gasoline, and more are accepted free of charge from households. These products pose risks to human health and the environment if disposed of incorrectly. Many items are recycled through special programs and products in useable condition are offered back to the public for free at the HHW Facility.

All County buildings, including the HHW Facility continue to be closed to the public until further notice. The Household Hazardous Waste Facility is located at 1115 North Tower Road, Fergus Falls.
