Class Description: The National Standardized Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification Course is a 4-day course that combines classroom instruction, hands-on work w/car seats and in vehicles and a community safety seat checkup event. Successful completion of this course certifies the individual as a National CPS technician for 2 years. Students pass the course if they: Attend every part of the course and earn passing grades for 3 sets of tests: Written quizzes, hands-on skills assessments and a checkup event. Successful individuals will be able to conduct car seat safety checks/education either individually or through a checkup event. This course satisfies the MN Child Restraint Education Account Car Seat Grant Program for the distribution of child restraints to low income recipients.
