Earth Day Trashion Fashion Show
The Kaddatz Galleries, Otter Tail County Solid Waste, The Spot and Springboard for the Arts are teaming up to host the first ever Trashion Fashion show in Otter Tail County. Business Fluorescent Bulb Collection Available Year-Round
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility is now accepting fluorescent bulbs from businesses year round. Businesses are charged a small disposal fee per bulb, payable by check or invoice. Call ahead for details and pricing.
Pelican Rapids Redemption Center Closing
The Pelican Rapids Redemption Center will have its last day of business on Saturday, March 2nd. The location will continue to have drop off recycling available outside of the building. Other locations that provide aluminum can redemption include the Otter Tail County Recycling and Redemption Center and Sigelman Steel in Fergus Falls, Wadena Hid & Fur Company, and Hartman Hide & Fur in Detroit Lakes.

Solid Waste Programs and Services
The Otter Tail County Solid Waste Department oversees an integrated waste management system that includes:
- Six Solid Waste Transfer Stations and two Demolition Landfills
- A Recycling Program with 29 drop-off recycling sites and a Materials Recovery Facility
- A Household Hazardous Waste Program that serves a six county area
- Waste education and outreach to help county residents reduce waste and dispose of waste responsibly
Municipal solid waste from Otter Tail County is managed according to the EPA waste management hierarchy which recognizes waste reduction, recycling, and resource recovery as keys to a sustainable waste management system.
