Before you can vote, you must register. You can check to see if you are a registered voter by visiting Am I Registered to Vote?.As a college student you may decide if your college residence is your home, or if your parents residence is your home. You must vote from the address you choose, and you can only vote from one address in each election. See Options 1 & 2 on how to register to vote.
You can Pre-Register on-line by clicking the link above or on paper. To register on-line you will need your Minnesota driver’s license or a Minnesota identification card number, or the last four numbers of your Social Security number. To register by paper download and print the forms, and use these forms to register yourself or to register others.

Register to Vote on Election Day
You can register to vote or update your registration when you vote, whether that is at your polling place on Election Day or at an early voting location. You will need proof of residence to register.
If you want to use your parents address as your residence, but won’t be home to vote, you can Vote Absentee.
