The Perham Resource Recovery Facility, a waste-to-energy facility located in Perham, MN currently has an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic. Essential duties include a variety of routine preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment which includes air compressors, conveyors, pumps, electrical motors, blowers, front end loaders, and all other related plant equipment. This position also overhauls and troubleshoots a variety of equipment such as pumps, electrical, mechanical devices, hydraulic equipment, and other related machinery.
Salary range for the Maintenance Mechanic position is a Grade 5 ($16.61/hr. to $25.28/hr.) with a full benefit package. New employees starting pay is based on level of experience as a maintenance mechanic. This position works a schedule of Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

In 2010, Otter Tail, Becker, Todd and Wadena Counties entered into a Joint Powers Agreement to form the Prairie Lakes Municipal Solid Waste Authority (PLMSWA) to facilitate regional cooperation on solid waste management among the member counties. Clay county joined the PLMSWA in 2014.
In 2011, the PLMSWA became owner and operator of the Perham Resource Recovery Facility, a waste-to-energy facility in Perham, MN. The five member counties deliver over 60,000 tons per year of solid waste to the facility.
