In 2010, Otter Tail, Becker, Todd and Wadena Counties entered into a Joint Powers Agreement to form the Prairie Lakes Municipal Solid Waste Authority (PLMSWA) to facilitate regional cooperation on solid waste management among the member counties. Clay county joined the PLMSWA in 2014.
In 2011, the PLMSWA became owner and operator of the Perham Resource Recovery Facility, a waste-to-energy facility in Perham, MN. The five member counties deliver over 60,000 tons per year of solid waste to the facility.
Open Position for a MRF Sort Line Operator
The Perham Resource Recovery Facility currently has an opening for a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) Sort Line Operator.
The Sort Line Operator’s primary responsibility is sorting materials (recyclables) within the MRF with the purpose of delivering combustible material to the Waste to Energy (WTE) Facility and developing an end sort of recyclable and recoverable products for shipment to recyclables markets.
The starting salary for the MRF Sort Line Operator position is $15.00/hr. with advancement up to $22.48/hr. New employees typically start between steps one and three depending on qualifications and experience ($15.00/hr. to $16.87/hr.). This position is full time with a typical work schedule of Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. A competitive PLMSWA benefit package applies.
